Description:
This five-day comprehensive workshop incorporates all aspects of the Vestibular Assessment and Rehabilitation Workshops. Content includes anatomy & physiology, vestibular assessment & diagnostic testing: VNG/ENG, postural stability, active head rotation tests and more. Management and treatment includes all techniques for the evaluation and treatment of BPPV and Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) using diagnostic based strategies for all types of vestibular and balance disorders. Participants receive two volumes of assessment and management educational materials, AIB CDVAT, and the Gans SOP Balance Test.
Learning Objectives:
- Apply vestibular physiology and vestibular pathophysiology to vestibular assessment and management.
- Administer reliable and valid vestibular assessment and VNG/ENG tests.
- Accurately interpret and report vestibular assessment findings. Utilize assessment results for appropriate triage of patients for Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) or applicable management strategies.
- Differentiate vestibular test abnormalities that identify patients who are appropriate candidates for therapy.
- Use diagnosis based strategies for designing and implementing therapy programs.
- Apply specific therapy protocols within individualized programs for patients.
- Initiate and implement a comprehensive vestibular rehabilitation program within the scope of their practice with an understanding of marketing and merchandising skills.
This workshop is designed for:
Audiologists, otolaryngologists, neurologists, and physical therapists. Physical and occupational therapists needing to apply or supervise vestibular assessment and management will also benefit from this course. This workshop is conducted in a small group learning environment. Registration in workshops requires an earned degree.
